Week 14 Strong Plays and Weak Plays

Strong QB Plays

Marc Bulger @CIN: Bulger has been cleared to practice (concussion) and is expected to start this week against the Bengals. Bulger should pick up right were he left off and is in for a big game against an awful Bengals Defense.

David Garrard vs. CAR: Garrard is proving himself as a serious fantasy QB the past few weeks. In his last three games he has totaled 742 yards passing and 5 TD’s. Garrard is a strong play this week at home against the Panthers.

Weak QB Plays

Eli Manning @PHI: Eli once again proved last week that he is not an every week fantasy starter. You should only consider Eli if your only other QB is Joey Harrington.

Strong RB Plays

Ryan Grant vs. OAK: The guy has been on a tear since taking over as the starter in week 8. Grant will have another solid day at home against a bad Oakland Run D.

Kolby Smith @DEN: Larry Johnson is expected to miss another game (foot) this week on the road against the Broncos. If you managed to pick Smith up on the waiver wire a few weeks ago, keep riding him as he will get most of the touches again this week.

Weak RB Plays

Laurence Maroney vs. PIT: The Patriots do not use Maroney enough for him to be started. The worst part about Maroney is even when they are inside the 5 yard line, they give the goal line TD’s to fullback Heath Evans. Sit Maroney on your bench and deal with the fact that the he is one of the biggest fantasy busts this season.

Strong WR Plays

Isaac Bruce @CIN: Father Time has been very consistent over the past 5 weeks and is a must start this week against the Bengals. Bruce has scored in 3 of the past 4 games.

Joey Galloway @HOU: Another ageless wonder continues to amaze with his blazing speed. Whether Garcia or Luke McCown starts this week at QB against the Texans, Galloway is a strong play.

Santonio Holmes @NE: Holmes practiced on Wed. and is expected to play this week against the Pats. The Steelers desperately need Holmes this week to have a chance to knock off the undefeated Patriots.

Roddy White vs. NO: White has torn it up the past two weeks and has a great match up this week at home against the Saints on Monday Night. White is a solid play this week as a #3 WR.

Weak WR Plays

Chris Henry vs. STL: After starting out on fire his first two games after returning from his 8 game suspension, Henry has disappointed of late. Henry is only worthy of starting in deep leagues as a #3 or 4 WR.
